Dance has always been the heartbeat of BritZa. Offering ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and many other styles, we have no shortage of dance classes in Sioux Falls for students of all ages and abilities. Learn more about each dance style below!

Discover Dance
early childhood education
The DiscoverDance Early Childhood Program is a series of movement classes designed to introduce children to the creative and expressive world of dance. This program offers children the opportunity to develop their natural movement ability in a multi-sensory environment.

Explore the joy of movement with your little one and discover the many benefits of early childhood dance classes. We will dance, sing, and play in both one-on-one activities and group activities.

$150 per sessionDiscover the magic of imaginative play with live singing, structured explorations, and skill development. Our Discover Dance classes offer an outlet for creative expression, physical growth, and social interaction.

Discover Hip Hop
4 – 6 years old:

Inside each Discover Hip Hop class, we integrate movement skills, while also fostering the development of the personal movement style for each growing young artist. With this, we grow our creativity and set the foundation of hip hop in a supportive and fun learning environment.
Non-Recital Classes
Dance technique classes are designed to improve the dancers' technical dance skills, abilities, and performance quality. This is also a great class for students who are new to a style and would like to try it out without the commitment of a recital.
Upon registration, the first month’s tuition will automatically be charged. This amount is non-refundable. Tuition is then charged monthly for the remainder of the semester.
Tippy Toes Ballet (4 – 6 years old):

Adult Classes
All levels welcome!
Please wear Ballet shoes (Adult Ballet) or Tap Shoes (Adult Tap). Wear any comfortable clothing you can move in!

Recital Classes
The following classes will all perform at the Spring Recital in May 2025.

Combo Classes
These classes run as ballet and tap combo classes. Basic technique will be taught along with rhythm, coordination, and balance. They will perform both a ballet and tap dance in the spring recital to show off their cool new skills!
Babes (3 – 4 years old):

Ballet
Ballet is a classical dance form demanding grace and precision and employing formalized steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns to create expression through movement.

Tap
Tap is a type of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. The sound is made by shoes that have a metal “tap” on the heel and toe.

Jazz
Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz also has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms.
Classes marked with a ◆ will participate in our Christmas Show.
Students must be enrolled in ballet in order to take jazz. Starting in the 7th Grade, lyrical may be substituted for ballet.

Musical Theatre
Musical theatre is a dance form that combines many styles of dance and allows dancers to explore expression and storytelling, not only through movement but also through facial expression.

3rd/4th grade: Wednesdays // 6:20 – 7:10pm

Hip Hop
Hip Hop is a dance style, usually danced to hip-hop music, that evolved from the hip-hop culture. BritZa always uses clean music and will teach only age-appropriate movement!

Lyrical
Lyrical dance challenges dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancer’s movements attempt to show the meaning of the music.

Contemporary
Contemporary dance tends to combine the strong but controlled legwork of ballet with modern that stresses on torso. It also employs contract-release, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation characteristics of modern dance. Unpredictable changes in rhythm, speed, and direction are often used as well.
Students must be enrolled in ballet in order to take contemporary.
7th/8th grade: Thursdays // 7:40 – 8:40pm

Pointe
Pointe is a part of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet within pointe shoes.
Classes marked with a ◆ will participate in our Christmas Show.
Students must complete pre-pointe and be enrolled in ballet to take pointe.
Pre-pointe (6th grade and up): Wednesdays // 5:20 – 6:10pm
Students must commit to both semesters of Pre-Pointe.
This class will not perform in any recitals.
